Terrelonge Staffing Solutions is supporting a federal contractor seeking a Construction Superintendent for a long-term project with the Department of Veterans Affairs National Cemetery Administration (NCA) in Sitka, Alaska. This is a great opportunity to lead meaningful civil infrastructure work that supports our nations veterans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate field operations in collaboration with the Project Manager, subcontractors, and government officials

  • Assist with weekly and six-week procurement planning and resource forecasting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date as-built drawings

  • Support scheduling updates and tracking using Procore and Microsoft 365

  • Lead preparation and communication of Three-Week and Six-Week Look-Ahead Schedules

  • Attend and contribute to weekly project meetings with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ensure jobsite safety, organization, and environmental compliance

  • Resolve field and design issues by working closely with architects, engineers, and field staff

  • Conduct field walks to monitor progress, identify risks, and maintain project momentum

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to subcontractors and labor crews

  • Enforce the Three Phases of Control (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up)

  • Promote strong communication and accountability among project stakeholders

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on federal construction projects (preferably civil)

  • Knowledge of EM 385-1-1 safety standards and OSHA 30 certification

  • Proven experience in civil scopes: grading, earthwork, concrete, utilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365, Procore; familiar with RMS or similar platforms

  • Strong understanding of federal specifications and submittal processes

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

  • Experience working with government agencies such as VA, NCA, NAVFAC, or USACE

Preferred

  • EM 385-1-1 Certification (or willingness to obtain before mobilization)

  • OSHA 30 Certification (required)

  • USACE Quality Control Management (QCM) Certification

  • Familiarity with Lean Construction and Pull Planning

  • Salary: $70,000 $120,000 depending on experience
