Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer, you will design, build, and optimise Azure-based data solutions to support large-scale Data and Analytics initiatives. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data marts and ETL pipelines, ensuring data is accurate, reliable, and ready for reporting and analytics.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

Stakeholder & Requirements Engagement

• Participate in client discussions to understand business rules, ETL specifications, data transformation logic, and reporting requirements
• Translate business requirements into clear technical data design specifications that support scalable solutions

Data Architecture & Design

• Perform data design activities to establish a strong foundation for Azure-based data mart development
• Conduct data mapping exercises to ensure accurate transformation and seamless integration of source systems

ETL Development & Automation

• Develop and automate ETL jobs using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Logic Apps
• Build scalable and reusable ETL pipelines that produce reliable, report-ready data marts

Reporting & Dashboard Development

• Develop ETL processes that support the creation of reports and dashboards aligned with business requirements
• Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and readiness for analytics consumption

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of data processes, flows, and transformations
• Manage data records and technical artefacts with consistency and clarity
• Support structured handover and knowledge transfer sessions with client teams

Experience

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer in Azure-based environments
• Experience in performing data mapping and data mart design
• Experience building ETL jobs and report-ready datasets
• Experience working with SAP data sources is an advantage
• Experience working with Snowflake is an advantage

Technical Expertise

• Hands-on expertise in Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Logic Apps
• Strong SQL and data transformation skills
• Data modelling and mapping capability
• ETL automation and optimisation expertise

Ways of Working

• Strong documentation discipline with attention to detail
• Confident in client-facing communication and stakeholder engagement
