Regional Finance and Accounting Lead

As a Regional Finance and Accounting Lead, you will take ownership of the finance and accounting function across the Southeast Asia region, supporting the company's group companies through hands-on execution, team coordination, and practical decision-making. You will step into a senior individual contributor role that combines regional finance and accounting oversight with day-to-day operational involvement.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

• Take ownership of the regional finance and accounting function across the company's group companies and related entities in Southeast Asia .
• To be hands-on in end-to-end finance and accounting activities.
• Work across a lean setup where responsibilities are broad and not separated into highly specialised functions such as standalone AR or AP roles.
• Help coordinate and strengthen the back-end finance and accounting team, including understanding where work should sit and how responsibilities can be delegated based on strengths.
• Support regional consolidation as the scope grows, including India and other regional entities as required.
• Interface with stakeholders across countries including internal business teams, bankers, auditors, and entity-level contacts.

Accounts and Operations

• Take a hands on role in accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across the region.
• Manage finance operations across multiple countries and facilitate effective communication between local and regional teams.
• Prepare, analyse, and validate financial and management reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Monitor billing, collections, expense tracking, and related operational processes.
• Coordinate month end close activities and consolidation of subsidiary accounts.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders.
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting activities.
• Track budget versus actuals and perform variance analysis.
• Support strategic financial planning and provide finance advisory support to business leaders.

Taxation and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws across jurisdictions and identify optimisation opportunities.
• Apply tax knowledge to transactions and recommend sound and compliant approaches.
• Collaborate effectively with multicultural teams and stakeholders across regions.

Internal Controls

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives for financial processes and internal systems.
• Ensure financial records are accurate, secure, and aligned with internal policies and guidelines.

Experience

• At least 15 years strong finance and accounting experience in a regional or multi-country setup
• You have worked hands-on across multiple entities in a medium-sized organisation.
• You have the seniority to lead the finance and accounting space, but you are still comfortable operating as an individual contributor.
• You bring stable tenure and a track record that reflects trustworthiness and long-term commitment.

Technical Expertise

• You have solid hands-on finance and accounting capability across day-to-day operations and closing activities.
• You are able to oversee reconciliations, invoicing, payments, accounting decisions, and practical back-end finance execution.
• You are comfortable working across regional finance and accounting processes and supporting consolidation across entities.
• You are open to systems, process, and workflow improvements, and willing to take ownership when change needs to be implemented.
