Data Architect/Data Lead

As a Data Architect/Data Lead (Modernisation & Digital Transformation), you will lead the rescue and modernisation of mission‑critical sales infrastructure, untangling complex legacy systems and architecting scalable solutions on the cloud. You will act as the strategist bridging technical teams and executive leadership, ensuring transformation outcomes are aligned with business needs and long‑term value.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

Strategic Architectural Assessment

• Perform a comprehensive 5‑day assessment of the ERP‑to‑OLAP pipeline to map end‑to‑end architecture.

Performance Engineering

• Analyse and remediate resource bottlenecks (CPU/Storage) on critical servers such as Server PHMAKA0007.
• Optimise execution of 50+ nightly data jobs to ensure stability and efficiency.

Reporting Evolution

• Evaluate technical limitations preventing delivery of sales requirements through existing OLAP cubes.
• Propose agile, scalable alternatives to meet evolving reporting needs.

Capability Gap Analysis

• Conduct technical analysis to identify skill gaps and optimisation opportunities within the current administration team.

Stakeholder Leadership

• Lead focused workshops with business units and technical teams to define clear problem statements.
• Align technical outputs with operational sales requirements.

Executive Advisory

• Prepare formal board papers outlining the modernisation journey.
• Articulate ROI, value proposition, and business impact to executive leadership.

Experience

• You have deep expertise in cloud architecture, data engineering, and legacy‑to‑cloud modernisation.
• You have experience managing ERP integrations and large‑scale transformation projects.

Technical Expertise

• You are proficient in Azure Cloud Services including Azure SQL, Virtual Machines, and Azure Monitor.
• You can troubleshoot and scale CPU, memory, and storage for underperforming cloud servers.
• You have strong knowledge of OLAP cube design and optimisation.
• You are experienced in high‑volume ETL and batch processing with 50+ concurrent jobs.
• You are familiar with ERP ecosystems such as SYSPRO or similar systems.
• You have implemented data lifecycle management strategies including archiving and streaming down historical datasets.
