The Performance Management Executive Consultant supports client delivery and internal strategic goals from an expert-level perspective. This professional brings a unique mixture of business consulting, performance measurement, and operational expertise to their role to help clients achieve their desired outcomes.

The Performance Management Executive Consultant will leverage program management processes, policies, and frameworks and their significant hands-on experience and expertise to develop and deliver client-facing and internal deliverables including client strategies, operating models, performance measurement approaches, and more. The consultant works alongside client and internal leadership to define holistic strategies that combine business objectives with technology opportunities, then guides the client through execution and operation of the strategies. This professional brings significant practical and operational experience, understands best practices and works to define strategies that may include governance, organizational structure and staffing, business capability models, process, and performance measurement and management models.

The ideal candidate understands and embodies the organization's quality goals, maintains a high level of autonomy in all work, and possesses excellent leadership qualities, with the ability to maximize the talents of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a strong understanding of the organization's methodologies and identity to ensure they are leveraged in its program management approach;
  • Represents the organization in day-to-day client interactions focused on developing strategy assessments, recommendations, and executable plans for outcome achievement;
  • Oversees service offerings related to value maximization including: strategic planning, organization and business performance measurement, and portfolio and program health;
  • Leads projects and ensures overall quality of delivery;
  • Develops models, frameworks, and methods based on deep expertise and research that enhance clients;
  • Reports progress of projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution;
  • Supports executive clients and assists in establishing and implementing a vision, roadmap, and governance to address present business needs and support future growth;
  • Interfaces and provides direction, guidance and consulting to the highest levels within the client organizations specifically in the areas of organizational assessment and design, strategic planning, business process improvements, and performance management;
  • Authors white papers, thought pieces, and models that support clients in order to achieve their strategic objectives;
  • Facilitate executive sessions to assess and drive adoption of new strategic directions established by the team;
  • Impact analysis of current operating models and digital/technology transformation;
  • Contributes as a member of client delivery team to ensure consistent communication, coordinated client relationship management, and integrated service delivery.

Qualifications

A successful candidate for the role of Performance Management Executive Consultant can demonstrate a history of exceptional achievement in outlining the measures, goals, and objectives required to make strategy a reality. They have an established portfolio of instituting successful performance measurement programs in large companies or organizations, or in complex and challenging environments.

  • Minimum Masters degree in relevant areas including technology, business, communications, operations, organizational design, or similar.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, including operational experience in business or government. Recommended at least five years in program management and/or client delivery for top-tier corporate or government clients. 25 years of relevant experience can be substituted for education.
  • In-depth knowledge of and hands-on experience developing and implementing business practices, strategies, and regulations
  • Significant strategic program management experience
  • Brilliant interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expertise in developing, implementing, and maintaining robust performance management and measurement systems in a variety of environments
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and make prompt decisions
  • Impeccable client relationship management skills
  • Experience simplifying complex processes and designing and implementing new operational processes
  • Expert-level attention to detail and deliverable quality control
