Description

Our client is seeking an IT Project Manager/Scrum Master 3/4 to support Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). This posting is for an IT Project Manager 3/4 (Scrum Master) in the Information Technology Project Management (ITPM) Group in the Service Innovation Division, which is part of the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Business Management (ALDBUS). The SI-ITPM group provides IT project and program management, including Agile framework to ensure IT projects achieve success and deliver expected outcomes within scope, schedule, and budget.

Requirements

For Level 3:

  • Excellent communication and servant leadership skills, problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability, and outstanding organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and processes, including source code control, application development tools and techniques, database design, development and management, programming languages, and component integration.
  • Knowledge and experience with successful Agile best practices and framework.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least three years.
  • Advanced knowledge of IT environments and application development methodologies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and presentation skills.
  • Bachelors Degree and 8 years of experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

For Level 4:

In addition to the requirements outlined above, qualification at the higher level requires:

  • Expert knowledge and experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least five years.
  • Expert knowledge and experience with successful Agile best practices and frameworks. Track record of coaching and transforming teams through forming, storming, norming, and performing as organizations move from waterfall methodologies to a Scrum framework.
  • Experience being on multiple development teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.). Knowledge of software development methodologies, tools and processes, including source code control, application development tools and techniques, database design, development and management, programming languages, and component integration.
  • Demonstrated abilities to grow and utilize people-skills for betterment of the individual and the project.
  • Bachelors Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Training/Certifications: Scrum Master Certification (CSM), SAFe, or equivalent required for both levels.

Desired

  • Experience with Oracle, COTS, Data Warehousing, and Infrastructure Migration.
  • Experience working in a government or national laboratory environment.
  • Experience being on various development teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
  • The Project Management Professional (PMP) credential is desired for both levels.
