Description

The Junior Web Developer creates and manages website content, configures scripts, troubleshoots, modifies, tests, and revises scripting codes compatibility. This position is responsible for contributing to building and maintaining websites that are resilient and functional. This role participates in the project conceptualization until the final deliverables, ensuring the output's efficiency and flawless navigations. In addition, this role will update existing web applications using scripting languages while making sure to follow company protocols, federal regulations, and user needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the web development team with all aspects of website and application design.
  • Assist with the testing and maintenance of backend and front-end applications.
  • Design layouts on the front-end using JavaScript, CSS3 and HTML5.
  • Analyze project specifications.
  • Manage and implement all codes changes via SVN.
  • Work with the technology team to create, test, code and write deployment plans into functional web application designs.
  • A solid understanding of how web applications work including security, session management, and best development practices.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to implement new web features.
  • Convert video, audio, written, and graphic components into compatible formats for the web.
  • Using user feedback to identify and correct problems with ERGs website.
  • Increase knowledge of website coding languages, options, technologies, and the tools that will asset in performance of this responsibilities.
  • Use necessary tools to implement content and systems.
  • Utilize data and analytics in making design decisions for better overall design development.
  • Review and update existing web-properties owned by Empower Rental Group.
  • Keep web-properties up to date with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage and collaborate with any developing contracts or external contractors.
  • Effectively communicate your design visions and solutions to leadership and the team.
  • Stay current with the latest technology, industry and programming trends and apply them into operations and activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Assist IT Helpdesk staff as needed.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Web Development, Computer Science, and related field or relevant work experience in other related fields or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least 2 years of working experience with coding and developing for web applications.
  • Experience working with coding languages such as PHP, HTML, HTML5, CSS/CSS3, SQL, and JavaScript/JQuery.
  • Solid understanding of web design and development principles.
  • Working knowledge of current web development best practices and cross browser compatibility.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and uncover the root causes. Finds ways to get beyond roadblocks and reach problem resolution.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Awareness and understanding of various technology trends.
  • Good planning, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Fluent in English, spoken and written.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Are curious and open to learning and finding new solutions.
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Desired

  • Experience with developing applications for Microsoft 365 a plus.
  • Basic tech support skills would be a plus.
