Sr. Information Systems/Enterprise Architect, Manassas, VA/Remote

Our client, based out of Manassas, VA is seeking a Sr. Information Systems/Enterprise Architect for a contract to hire opportunity.

This is a remote position, however candidates local to MD/DC/VA preferred.



  • The Sr. Information Systems/Enterprise Architect designs, implements, and maintains the organization's application systems and/or IT infrastructure. 
  • Provides an architectural framework for information system development, maintenance, and enhancement efforts, understands user and process requirements and ensures those requirements can be achieved through high quality deliverables. 
  • Works closely with developers and engineers to develop road maps for applications, align development plans, and to ensure effective integration among information systems and the IT infrastructure. 
  • Monitors technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards as well as emerging business requirements. 
  • Understands the interactions between systems, applications, and services within the environment, and evaluate the impact of changes or additions. 
  • Analyzes systems and performs usability testing to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, and meet security requirements. 
  • Is considered highly skilled and proficient in discipline and conducts complex work important to the organization. 


1. 30%: Participate in the planning, architecture, and design of customer projects
2. 50%: Develop and maintain the strategic IT solutions to address the future needs and plans for enterprise architecture, platforms, technologies, and tools required to sustain a high level of application performance
3. 10%: Builds strong customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions
4. 5%: Cultivates innovation allowing for new and better ways for the company to be successful
5. 5%: Collaborates well with cross functional executive-level peers; able to drive decisions when consensus is lacking


  • Bachelor’s Degree (Master's Degree preferred) and at least 6-8 years of related work experience
  • Previous architectural experience of Advanced IT Infrastructures required
  • Demonstrated with application and/or infrastructure architectural experience with progressive responsibilities
  • Hands-on knowledge of current technology standards/trends coupled with a desire to continually expand personal knowledge/skills
  • Strong AWS experience (certification preferred)
  • Experience working with Federal Government clients and ability to establish and maintain relationships with other business and technology leaders
  • Ability and interest in mentoring technical staff and raising collective technical competencies
  • Ability to manage change and cope with complex and ambiguous situations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills coupled with the ability to tailor communication to all levels of an organization
  • Open-minded with proven ability to work collaboratively with others in team environment
  • Experience identifying, defining and implementing technical design/coding standards
  • Desired Technical Skills – Sitecore, SalesForce, Xamarin, Responsive Web Design (AngularJS), Azure, API Management, CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub/Artifactory/Ansible), Spring Boot, Emerging Database Technologies (Hadoop, NoSQL), Identity Access Management (OKTA, Saviynt, etc.), Application Performance Management (New Relic, SteelCentral), AWS, VMware, RHEL, SAN Storage Technologies, Contanerization Technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Lambda, etc.), Python
  • Experience with Security-related architecture and design
  • Experience creating logical and physical system designs with Visio
  • Solid understanding of SDLC, Release Engineering, and Automated deployment processes
  • Experience with tiered architectures – e.g. presentation, application, data
  • Familiar with ITSM/ITIL management concept
