Financial Analyst Renewable Energy
The Catalyst Group is looking to hire a Financial Analyst for a 1-2 year secondment position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
About the Client:
The client operates in the IPP Renewable Energy sector, with a focus on both conventional and renewable energy projects, particularly in the Middle Eastern market.
Key Deliverables:
- Preparation of Financial Models: Develop and/or review Excel-based financial models, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness
- Financial Model Review & Interaction: Assist in the audit of financial models, connect with stakeholders, and work collaboratively until achieving financial close
- Project Success: Complete financial modelling assignments with successful acceptance by sponsors
- Strategic Insights: Conduct feasibility assessments and engage with stakeholders to align project objectives with market demands
- Additional Scope: Engage in negotiations with stakeholders, project financing activities, and provide actionable recommendations on financial structuring
Tools and Techniques:
- Advanced proficiency in Excel-based financial modelling
- Familiarity with performance metrics specific to IPP Renewable Energy projects, such as Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR), and Net Present Value (NPV)
- Understanding of Middle Eastern energy policies and market dynamics.
Requirements:
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience in financial modeling for renewable energy projects
- Experience in renewable energy with exposure to solar, wind, or hydropower projects
- Strong understanding of IPP frameworks and project finance principles
- Prior experience in the Middle Eastern energy market is highly preferred
- Awareness of market trends, regulatory policies, and financing structures in the region
- Ability to build detailed, robust, and auditable financial models
- Experience in conducting sensitivity analysis, scenario planning, and valuation techniques
Collaboration & Reporting:
- Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and external stakeholders
- Engage with stakeholders, requiring strong communication and negotiation skills
- Report to the Senior Director, working under their guidance throughout the assignment
Success Metrics:
- Timely completion and acceptance of financial models by sponsors
- Establishing smooth collaboration with stakeholders
- Contributing to the financial close of the project within the stipulated timeline
