Role: Associate/ Senior Associate, Brand & Communications
About SCALE
SCALE enables funders, nonprofits, and government leaders to collectively create
systemic impact. Anchored in the belief that lasting, population-level change depends on
transformed public systems, SCALE's mission is to galvanise domestic capital toward
high-potential systemic solutions that leverage the government, and build the
capabilities of the organisations driving them.
We work with CSRs, foundations, and family philanthropies to enable portfolio allocation
toward systemic goals by providing technical advisory support to design an annual systemic
investing roadmaps and by curating vetted investable bets that support systemic
solutions, along with end-to-end facilitation. We engage System Support Organisations
(SSOs), a specialised cadre of nonprofits that work on bridging the gap between
on-ground implementation, policy design, and financing, through leaders-first
Communities of Practice focused on peer learning and organisational capacity for
systems change, as well as through skill-building immersions for emerging SSOs. We also
work with government leaders through symposiums and systems thinking workshops
aligned to key departmental priorities.
Position Summary
This role provides an incredible opportunity to drive and work on communications for a
newly formed and transformative social impact organisation that works at the
intersection of governments, SSOs, and funders (across the spectrum of trusts and
CSRs). This role is ideal for a hands-on communicator looking for a long-term career in
the social impact space or the corporate space targeting social impact, spanning the
gamut of events, content creation, social media management, and media relations. While
the responsibilities are detailed out below, the incumbent needs to be prepared to work
with a high degree of ambiguity and rapid turn arounds basis the evolving organisation
needs. There will be considerable opportunities to expand the role over time as the
person contributes to shaping the organization. This role offers the chance to be a part
of a nimble and agile team and work with and learn from seniors with considerable
policy, social sector, and corporate experience.
Responsibilities
Own and drive social media for Scale
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy (with different and relevant campaigns), leveraging existing content and cross-pollination with multiple relevant partners.
- Be the voice of the consumer/influencer basis latest trends, best practices, and data for social media channels
- Continually optimise and drive basic SEO for YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and the website
- Find creative and cost-effective ways of growing a relevant follower base and engagement
- Strategise on the usage of senior leadership's social media handles to amplify the content on the org's social media
Manage and develop owned media assets (in addition to social media)
- Be the custodian for the website with relevant updates, and work on building appropriate tonality for the same
- Evaluate the feasibility of a newsletter and work on a blueprint for the same
- Ensure all collaterals - pitch decks, notes, PPTs, etc., are brand-compliant and dissemination-friendly
- Work closely with the TCF ecosystem & other partner orgs to cross-synch own media
Plan and execute events and convenings
- End-to-end project management of events and convenings hosted by Scale (often in partnership with AIP ) and/or eminent philanthropists
- Plug-and-play model for branding, invitations, and dissemination
- Collate learnings from events to raise the bar on the same
- Seamlessly manage the arc between events, convenings, and social media
Media engagement and outreach
- Work with the Head of Brand & Communications and other team members to manage strategic salience via media outreach, op-ed, interview opportunities, etc.
- Identify opportunities for Scale leadership to speak and engage with the wider ecosystem via outreach and ecosystem mapping
- Identify topical opportunities for Scale to spotlight relevant corporates and SSOs
- Manage all vendors and projects end-to-end and co-own agency relationships with the Head - Brand and Communications
Content creation and design
- Work on reports and specific knowledge projects in collaboration with the team
- Single point of contact for all knowledge products, including the TCF ecosystem and external partners
Requisites
Experience & Education
- 2-3 years of experience in a large SSO/ media agency
- Bachelor's in any subject, Master's in communication preferred but not mandatory
- Good written and oral communication skills, understands and can deploy the basics of design (e.g., Canva)
Core Capabilities

- Analytically sound and able to use the latest tech for analysis

Location: Delhi NCR (hybrid working model), travel to Mumbai & Bangalore as needed
Reporting: Head of Brand and Communications for Scale (concurrently head of Brand
and Communications for AIP)
- Close working relationships with the CEO of Scale, Associate Director, and the team
- Close working relationship with the AIP comms team, and as needed with comms teams across the TCF network
