Job Description:

Position Summary

The Finance Associate will be responsible for managing financial operations, including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and bookkeeping using Tally software. The role will ensure compliance with Trust regulations, FCRA requirements, TDS, and other statutory obligations. The ideal candidate will have 4–5 years of experience in nonprofit finance, proficiency in Tally, and a strong understanding of regulatory compliances applicable to Trusts/NGOs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash, and payroll processing using Tally accounting software.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate books of accounts and financial records in compliance with applicable laws for charitable trusts.
  • Ensure adherence to all regulatory compliances applicable to a Trust, including maintenance of records, audit support, filing of returns, and other statutory requirements.
  • Oversee and manage FCRA compliances, including registration/renewal, utilization tracking, annual return filing, and maintenance of prescribed records.
  • Ensure timely and accurate TDS compliances, including deduction, deposit, return filing, and issuance of certificates.
  • Assist in grant management activities, including budget preparation, utilization tracking, donor reporting, and fund reconciliation.
  • Support annual statutory audit, internal audit, and preparation of schedules/documents required by auditors.
  • Monitor vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and monthly financial closures.


Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of nonprofit finance principles, including fund accounting, grant management, budgeting, and donor reporting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
    4–5 years of experience in finance/accounts, preferably in the development sector, Trusts, NGOs, or nonprofit organizations.
  • Proficiency in Tally accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience in compliances applicable to Trusts, including Income Tax provisions, audit coordination, and statutory filings.
  • Experience in handling FCRA compliances and reporting requirements.
  • Experience with TDS, GST (if applicable), and payroll related compliances.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
