Job Description:
Reporting to: President & CEO
Location: Mumbai / Bangalore/ Delhi
Role Type: Full-time
Role Overview
The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a high-velocity role designed to act as a strategic force multiplier for the President & CEO.The CoS focuses inward and upward—streamlining the CEO’s reach, ensuring cross-functional alignment, and driving the execution of the Foundation's most critical "Zero-to-One" initiatives. You will also act as a Strategic Architect to bridge the gap between high-level policy research and on-the-ground execution, ensuring the Foundation’s mission is backed by data and aligned with India’s evolving educational and regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities
1. Executive Velocity & Decision Support (40%)
The CEO’s Proxy: Attend high-stakes meetings with the CEO & President providing technical summaries and ensuring that the CEO’s "voice" and "intent" are represented accurately. You aren't just taking notes; you are ensuring the CEO’s "intent" is translated into policy-aligned language.
Strategic Triage: Manage the CEO’s workflow and priority stack.
Board & Governance: Lead the preparation for Board Meetings. Synthesize departmental data into high-level strategic narratives, ensuring the Board receives a cohesive "State of the Foundation" report.
2. Internal Orchestration & "The Glue" (30%)
Breaking Silos: Act as the connective tissue between Operations, Marketing, and the PMU (Project Management Unit). Ensure that when the Partnerships team signs a new MoU, the internal teams are structurally ready to execute.
3. Special Projects & "Zero-to-One" Initiatives (20%)
Knowledge Product Design: Translate the CEO’s vision into tangible assets—white papers, "Product Nation" frameworks, or high-fidelity pitch decks for philanthropic donors.
Organisational Scaling: Support the CEO in designing the "Org Chart of the future," helping coordinate and maintain the CEO’s tasks and put them through execution.
4. Strategic Research & Market Intelligence (10%)
Trend Spotting: Keep the CEO ahead of the curve by synthesizing global trends in STEM, EdTech, and "Maker" pedagogy.
Competitor/Peer Analysis: Monitor the landscape of other non-profits and government schemes to ensure MBF remains the "Keystone" organization.
Candidate Profile: The High-Stakes Operator
Experience: 3–6 years in Management Consulting, Venture Capital, or an EA/CoS role in a fast-growing startup/Foundation.
The "Buffer" Mindset: You are comfortable being the person behind the scenes who makes the leader look good. You possess high EQ and can handle sensitive information with absolute discretion.
Communication: You can write a formal government briefing at 10 AM and a punchy, inspiring LinkedIn post for the CEO at 2 PM.
Technical Comfort: You don't just "use" Excel; you use data to tell stories. You can build a financial model or a project roadmap from scratch.
