Job Summary:
We are hiring a skilled Folder Gluer Operator with experience in folding cartons within the food packaging industry. This role is crucial to producing consistent, high-quality printed packaging materials according to client specifications. The operator will set up, monitor, and troubleshoot Folder/Gluer machinery and ensure quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation:
- Operate and adjust Folder/Gluer machines including straight line, auto-bottom, 4- and 6-corner carton types.
- Prepare machinery for runs, performing make-ready tasks for optimal productivity and precision.
- Monitor production runs, clear jams, and make ongoing adjustments to maintain speed and quality.
- Oversee general technicians working on the equipment.
Quality Control:
- Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy, consistency, and client specifications.
- Complete required checklists and ensure jobs are error-free and exceed expectations.
- Support ISO standards and company quality objectives.
Safety & Cleanliness (OHSE):
- Follow all safety protocols, PPE usage, and hazardous materials handling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Use safety lifting equipment and participate in keeping the environment hazard-free.
Team Communication & Leadership:
- Communicate effectively with peers and leadership.
- Accept and act on feedback from supervisors.
- Help foster a team-oriented and performance-driven environment.
- Assist with training, lead small groups when needed, and participate in team meetings.
Must Haves / Requirements Summary:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years operating Folder/Gluer equipment in the food packaging industry
- Experience running straight line, auto-bottom, 4- and 6-corner cartons
- Ability to perform set-up, troubleshooting, and adjustments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer and math skills (percentages, weights, and measures)
- Physically able to lift 30+ lbs and stand/bend/reach for long periods
- Flexibility to work extended hours as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Bobst Alpina, ExpertFold, or Domino equipment
- Familiarity with Leary or Nordson glue systems
- Prior leadership or team lead experience in a manufacturing environment
