Core Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments for new admissions and monitor ongoing resident health status regularly
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, and family members
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established clinical protocols
  • Oversee and provide guidance to Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants during assigned shifts
  • Communicate effectively with residents, family members, and interdisciplinary team members regarding changes in health conditions
  • Document all clinical findings, interventions, and outcomes accurately within the electronic health record system
  • Respond promptly to medical emergencies and coordinate appropriate care and transfer procedures when necessary
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff education programs, and regulatory compliance activities
  • Maintain current knowledge of geriatric nursing best practices and applicable state and federal regulations
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with residents that honor their dignity, autonomy, and individual preferences

Must-Have Requirements
  • Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license issued by the State of Maryland
  • Minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or senior living environment
  • Strong working knowledge of geriatric conditions including dementia, diabetes, cardiac disease, and rehabilitation needs
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor paraprofessional staff in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills under pressure
  • Proficiency with electronic health record platforms and standard clinical documentation practices
  • Outstanding communication skills with residents, families, physicians, and multidisciplinary team members
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from an accredited provider
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as operationally required
  • Strong commitment to person-centered care philosophies and ethical nursing practice standards
