Core Responsibilities
  • Prepare and position patients for a wide variety of interventional radiology procedures, ensuring patient comfort and procedural safety at all times
  • Operate fluoroscopic and digital imaging equipment with precision and technical expertise
  • Assist physicians during complex procedures including angiography, biopsies, drain placements, embolizations, and stent insertions
  • Administer contrast media under physician supervision and monitor patients for adverse reactions throughout procedures
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to all radiation safety protocols and infection control standards
  • Accurately document procedures, patient records, and imaging data within the electronic health record system
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform basic maintenance on imaging equipment as required
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members including nurses, physicians, and support staff
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure continuous coverage for urgent and emergent cases
  • Educate and communicate with patients and their families regarding procedural expectations and post-procedure care instructions

Must-Have Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program
  • Active ARRT certification in Radiography required; ARRT certification in Vascular Interventional Radiography preferred
  • Minimum of two years of hands-on interventional radiology or related imaging experience strongly preferred
  • Current and valid Connecticut state radiologic technology license
  • Demonstrated proficiency with fluoroscopy equipment and digital subtraction angiography systems
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, contrast agents, radiation protection principles, and sterile field maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to perform effectively in high-pressure clinical environments
  • BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred
