Position Overview
A defense and government contracting firm is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the execution of complex, multi-disciplinary government contracts. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of managing federal programs from award through closeout, with deep knowledge of government contracting regulations and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for government customers and manage all aspects of program delivery
- Develop and maintain program schedules, budgets, risk registers, and performance baselines
- Lead integrated project teams including subcontractors, functional leads, and staff across multiple locations
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, FAR/DFAR regulations, and applicable government standards
- Prepare and present program status reports, EVM data, and executive briefings to government and corporate leadership
- Proactively identify and mitigate program risks and drive resolution of issues affecting cost, schedule, or performance
- Support business development activities including proposals, re-competes, and contract modifications
Requirements
- Active security clearance required (Secret minimum; TS preferred)
- US citizenship required
- 5+ years of federal program or project management experience
- Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFAR, and government contract lifecycle management
- PMP certification or equivalent program management credential
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets of $5M+ and cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DoD, IC, or federal civilian agency programs
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting
- Prior military service or government acquisition experience
- Master's degree in a relevant field
