Our client is South Africa's leading multi-media trade and technical magazine publishers and exhibition organisers focused on the Mining, Plumbing, HEVCAR and Construction industries and they are looking for a Trade Exhibition Organiser to join their team as soon as possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client and its subsidiaries organise between 30 35 exhibitions per annum in the mining and plumbing industries. These are trade exhibitions, they own their own equipment and travel around South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa hosting exhibitions. A lot of travel is required. They are responsible for organising the exhibitors, visitors, venue, catering, logistics, equipment, JOC, registration, signage, municipal requirements, marketing, generators / electricity, toilets, forklifts, food, invitations, accommodation, cross border permits, engineers, invoices and payments to mention a few.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Building and maintaining key operation and supplier relationships.
  • Proactively organising the full operational requirements of multiple exhibitions at the same time meeting all required deadlines. This includes but is not limited to - venue, catering, logistics, equipment, JOC, registration, signage, municipal requirements, marketing, generators / electricity, toilets, forklifts, food, invitations, accommodation, cross border permits, engineers, invoices and payments.
  • Proactively and independently finding solutions when challenges occur.
  • Collation of critical event information and dissemination of such information to related parties.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Matric
  • Diploma in event planning / management

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Min 3 - 5 years in organising trade events (not attending and setting up marketing events for a company)
