Our client is a hotel, conference, wedding venue and spa based in Muldersdrift and they are looking for a Senior Wedding and Events Sales Coordinator to join their team. Please note that this is a LIVE OUT POSITION.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The ideal candidate will serve the clients and plan for the happiest day of their lives. The candidate must be assertive while maintaining the diplomacy of a good negotiator and will be responsible for increasing the Hotels revenues in the event business. The position will work closely with other sales staff and the management team to facilitate sales conversion through enquiries and wedding exhibition leads. It will focus heavily on prospecting business specifically the wedding market segment.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervising the Wedding and the Function Coordination
- Quality assuring event coordinating processes from start to finish
- Monitoring Coordinators work performance as per the standards
- Office administration and staff rostering
- Translate the brides vision into reality
- Relate to all stakeholders both in and outside of the organisation
- Produce high quality data entry with close attention to detail
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Grade 12
- Event Management certificate/diploma will be an advantage
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 5 + Years wedding sales and planning in similar establishments
- Must have strong negotiating skills and be comfortable asking for the business
- Must be Proficient in MS Office Word and Excel Programs
- Must have experience with POS booking management systems
- Must have proven knowledge and savvy with social media
- Must be skilled in dealing with department issues
- Must know how to market, capture and convert business and be knowledgeable of different wedding cultures and trends
- Must be highly detailed orientated and creative at up-selling
- Must have a strong customer focus with the ability to build rapport and problem-solve independently
- Must have verbal solid/written communication skills and the ability to listen effectively
- Must be self-motivated with proven time management and organisation skills
- Must have the ability to work in an open fast, paced environment and meet crucial deadlines
- Must exhibit a can do attitude and passion for creating exceptional events
- Must be willing to work a flexible week/ weekend and hours to cover consultations, viewings/inspections
- Must be able to work under pressure effectively
- Must be able to make effective decisions and use initiative where necessary
- Must be able to deal with customer complaints effectively
- Must be proficient in English
- Must have a valid drivers license and own transport
