COMPANY DESCRIPTION:

Our client is a manufacturer and supplier of the widest ranges of high-quality galvanized rainwater goods, roof sheeting and ceiling products for the plumbing and building industry. They are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their Finance department.

JOB DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process supplier invoices and creditor reconciliations
• Prepare supplier payments and remittances
• Perform bank and cashbook reconciliations
• Assist with VAT calculations and submissions
• Maintain the fixed asset register
• Process journals, accruals and prepayments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist with month-end accounting processes
• Liaise with suppliers, banks and SARS where required
• Provide support to the Financial Manager with various accounting functions.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12
• BCom Accounting Degree

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• 1–3 years' accounting experience
• Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Experience working on SAP will be advantageous
• Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
