Plant Manager

 Job Description:

Plant Manager – Manufacturing (Fort Worth, TX)

Location: Fort Worth, Texas
Compensation: $175,000 – $200,000 base + STI + benefits

Role Overview

We are seeking a Plant Manager to lead a manufacturing operation in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.

This is not a traditional steady-state role. You will be responsible for building structure, stabilizing operations, and scaling performance across a facility where systems and processes are still evolving.

Success requires comfort working in environments where priorities shift, work is not fully standardized, and solutions often need to be created—not followed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead overall plant performance across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People (SQDCP)
  • Manage manufacturing operations including machining, welding, fabrication, assembly, and sustainment
  • Own supply chain performance: suppliers, cost, inventory, and risk management
  • Lead manufacturing engineering: process design, tooling, work instructions, NPI, and CI
  • Drive production planning, capacity management, and operational flow
  • Oversee workforce planning, capability development, and plant scaling
  • Optimize facility layout, material flow, and equipment strategy
  • Support make-vs-buy decisions and supplier development

What Success Looks Like

  • Building operational structure where none exists
  • Creating predictable execution in a changing environment
  • Scaling throughput, efficiency, and capability
  • Developing a strong, accountable, high-performing team

What We're Looking For

  • Builder + Operator mindset (can create systems and then run them)
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and non-standardized environments
  • Strong systems thinking across manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain
  • Resourceful operator in lean environments with practical decision-making
  • Direct, clear leadership style that drives accountability and trust
  • Growth-oriented leader with potential for broader enterprise leadership

Experience Required

  • 10+ years in manufacturing / operations leadership
  • Multi-disciplinary leadership (Production, Supply Chain, Engineering)
  • Experience scaling or standing up operations or facilities
  • Machining, welding, fabrication, and assembly experience
  • Lean manufacturing / continuous improvement background
  • ERP/MRP system experience
  • Strong supplier and procurement management experience

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, or Industrial OEM environments
