Role Overview
We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality systems and assurance across a dynamic manufacturing operation.
This role is responsible for ensuring product integrity, process control, and compliance, while also helping build a more structured and scalable quality function in a growing environment.
This is not a purely audit-driven role. It requires someone who can drive quality ownership on the shop floor, improve processes, and partner closely with engineering and production in a fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own overall quality performance across manufacturing operations
- Lead inspection, testing, and non-conformance management processes
- Develop and maintain quality management systems (QMS)
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
- Partner with production and engineering to improve process capability
- Oversee supplier quality performance and incoming inspection standards
- Support internal and external audits (customer, regulatory, ISO where applicable)
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives tied to defect reduction and yield improvement
- Ensure documentation, traceability, and compliance across all production activities
- Build a strong quality culture focused on accountability and prevention
What Success Looks Like
- Reduced defects, rework, and customer escapes
- Strong, disciplined quality system with clear documentation and control
- Improved process capability and production consistency
- Proactive issue resolution vs reactive firefighting
- Strong alignment between quality, engineering, and operations
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on Builder + Operator mindset in quality environments
- Strong experience in manufacturing quality systems and shop floor quality control
- Ability to work in high-mix, evolving production environments
- Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving capability
- Comfortable influencing production teams without direct authority
- Practical approach to quality (not overly bureaucratic or compliance-only)
- Strong communicator who can simplify technical quality issues
Experience Required
- 5–10+ years in quality management or quality engineering roles
- Manufacturing experience (machining, fabrication, welding, assembly preferred)
- Strong understanding of QMS principles (ISO 9001 or equivalent)
- Experience with inspection methods, calibration, and measurement systems
- Proven track record of reducing defects and improving process quality
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and production teams
Preferred Experience
- Aerospace, defense, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
- High-mix / low-volume or custom manufacturing environments
- Supplier quality and vendor management experience
- Lean manufacturing / Six Sigma exposure
