                                                       Construction Supervisor

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Civil Engineer to oversee and manage on-site construction supervision for building projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. This position requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise site supervision teams for all civil and structural works on building projects.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients to resolve technical and construction issues.
  • Ensure quality assurance and control procedures are implemented and maintained on site.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed progress and quality reports.
  • Manage project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved according to approved timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and inspectors.
  • Review and certify contractor progress payments and variations.
  • Participate in project meetings and provide engineering input during planning and execution stages.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • Professional License: Chartered Engineer / PE / PMP
  • certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in civil engineering and construction supervision, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of civil and structural design and construction methods related to buildings.
  • Proficient in project management and supervision practices.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project/Primavera, and other engineering tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and report-writing capabilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
  • Language: Fluency in English (Arabic or other languages an advantage).

Work Environment:

Site-based position with coordination between project teams and head office.
