Job Purpose:

The Commercial Department Manager in the Retail and Wholesale home appliances and electronics sector is responsible for planning and overseeing all commercial activities related to the product range. This role includes strategic planning, sales management support, supplier relationships, market knowledge, inventory control, and promoting revenue growth, while simultaneously ensuring the fulfilment of customer demands.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implements the Companys Vision and Mission in Commercial management, ensuring alignment with the corporate framework and objectives.
  • Integral part in drafting the companys strategy and budget.
  • Leads and oversees the daily commercial activities of the department with the goal of maximizing profit and growth.
  • The position is also responsible for setting the companys pricing strategy based on local market developments and the brand positioning of the products included in the category portfolio.
  • Creates the appropriate structure to meet the Departments demands and needs.
  • Develops and propose criteria to measure short-term/long-term performance and overall growth,
  • regularly evaluating results against these performance standards.
  • Organizes quarterly or annual meetings with partners (brand suppliers and marketing agencies) to agree on partnership terms and conditions and to ensure the best conditions for the companys benefit.
  • Responsible for merchandising in offline & online stores. Ensures product displays in stores,
    automatic assortment, as well as designing new planograms during store expansions/renovations.
  • Reviews and directs the development of new market opportunities regarding products and marketing.
  • Actively interacts with the Marketing department to achieve product communication and visibility, and with sales units (retail and wholesale) to ensure optimal performance in terms of sales, profit, margins, and stock according to the respective budget.
  • Manages the department to ensure it has qualified and well-prepared staff to achieve results.
  • Actively participates in proposing/designing digitalization of processes to facilitate and speed up Business as Usual (BAU) operations.
  • Ensures that subordinate staff participate in the necessary technical and quality training with the aim of improving their performance and business effectiveness.
  • Analyzes market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth, maintaining market share, and to accordingly adjust the strategic plan.
  • Ensures that the management and operational methods of the Commercial Department comply with the Company/Group standards, the legal framework, and the relevant Industry Standards.

Other Job Functions:

  1. Participates in forums/training programs related to the field of activity.
  2. Prepares and provides all required reports.
  3. Actively participates in company meetings.

Proposes to the Deputy CEO ideas for operational improvements/developments of the unit under management with the aim of increasing efficiency and optimizing time and costs.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: University Degree, preferably in Business Administration
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a company as a Commercial
  3. Manager/Purchasing/Sales.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Strong teamwork skills.
  6. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  7. Fluent in English.
  8. High computer literacy skills.
