For our client, a proptech company founded in Switzerland that offers an innovative mobile platform to simplify and modernize the rental process for property owners and managers, we are looking for a DevOps Engineer with proven experience in Scaleway cloud infrastructure, to help setup, manage and scale a multi-region, high-demand infrastructure built on PHP, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

About the Role: 

The DevOps Engineer will own the infrastructure powering a fast-growing platform ensuring uptime, automating deployment workflows, and optimizing for resilience and performance. This role is ideal for profiles who thrive in large-scale server environments, values clean automation, and understands the demands of production systems at scale.

Type: Full-time / partime

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect, maintain, and scale Scaleway-hosted infrastructure for PHP-based applications using PostgreSQL and MySQL databases;
• Manage a multi-server, multi-region setup with load balancing, redundancy, and automated failover; 
• Implement and manage Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Terraform or Pulumi;
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar;
• Set up and maintain observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Scaleway Monitoring) to ensure system health and performance;
• Monitor and secure infrastructure access, automate backups, and ensure disaster recovery readiness;
• Collaborate with developers to support staging/production pipelines and performance tuning;
• Conduct regular infrastructure audits and optimize for cost, speed, and security.

Requirements:

• 4+ years experience in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering
• Expert-level knowledge of Scaleway cloud services, including:
  • Instances, Load Balancers, Private Networks, Object Storage, Security Groups
• Strong experience with PHP application environments
• Experience managing and tuning both PostgreSQL and MySQL in production
• Comfortable with multi-region deployments, DNS routing, and load balancing strategies (NGINX, HAProxy, or similar)
• Proficient in Linux administration, scripting (Bash, Python), and automation tools (e.g. Ansible)
• Solid understanding of network and infrastructure security
• Experience using Terraform, Pulumi, or equivalent IaC tools

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with AWS services as a secondary provider
• Experience with secrets management (e.g. Vault, Doppler, AWS Secrets Manager)
• Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration (optional but valued)
• Experience with horizontal scaling of PHP applications and database replication
• Monitoring and alerting with Datadog, Loki, or similar tools
