Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Virtual Medical Doctor Supervisor to support our client in maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in medical documentation and billing. In this role, you will audit progress notes, verify patient visits, and ensure that billing is processed and paid correctly. Your expertise will be essential in streamlining operations, improving reimbursement timelines, and ensuring all records meet regulatory and payer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Progress Note Creation: Prepare accurate, detailed clinical progress notes using proper medical terminology and industry standards.
- Billing & Visit Verification: Review and confirm that all patient visits are billed correctly, ensuring compliance with insurance requirements.
- Medical Documentation Review: Audit documentation for completeness, accuracy, and timely submission.
- Insurance & Coding Support: Utilize medical coding knowledge to support communication between healthcare providers and insurance companies.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and payer requirements.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare providers to ensure thorough and accurate documentation of patient visits.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers and other team members to facilitate efficient workflow and documentation processes.
- Accurately document patient encounters, including medical histories, physical examinations, procedures, and treatment plans, in electronic health records (EHR) systems, when necessary.
- Perform general administrative and data-related tasks as needed.
- Perform other tasks related to the position.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
- Strong phone and interpersonal communication skills in English (verbally and written) with the ability to effectively engage with cross-functional teams, internal leaders, and providers.
- Organized, positive attitude and a professional approach to problem-solving, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent Email etiquette.
- Experience in leadership roles.
- Availability to work full-time on EST (New York time).
- Medical Doctor (MD) degree with valid credentials.
- Proven experience in creating clinical progress notes and verifying patient visits.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with medical coding practices.
- Experience in medical documentation, charting, and billing verification.
- Previous work with insurance providers and claims processing.
- Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems.
- Understanding of compliance requirements for medical records.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets).
- Professional, polite, and customer-focused tone.
- Sound judgment and the capacity to comprehend and execute instructions promptly with minimal supervision.
- Must have a Windows computer (Windows 10 or newer) that is less than 4 years old.
- Two monitors and a high-speed fiber network or Starlink internet.
