Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and clinically strong Remote MDS Clinical Nurse Coordinator to support U.S. nursing home operations through MDS-focused clinical auditing, quality oversight, and documentation review. This fully remote role requires prior hands-on MDS experience and strong clinical judgment to help improve MDS accuracy, nursing home quality measures, regulatory compliance, and reimbursement outcomes. This role plays a critical role in ensuring documentation integrity and operational excellence across skilled nursing facilities. The ideal candidate is highly organized, disciplined in time management, fluent in U.S. medical terminology, and experienced working within U.S. EMR systems. This role supports a healthcare organization providing primary care services to skilled nursing facilities and offers a clear path for professional growth and future Team Lead opportunities as the organization expands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, audit, and support MDS-related clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Identify documentation gaps and clinical opportunities to improve MDS scoring, quality outcomes, and reimbursement.
  • Monitor and support nursing home quality measures and performance indicators.
  • Apply clinical judgment to recognize medical issues that impact documentation, outcomes, and compliance.
  • Coordinate with physicians (MDs), nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure adherence to CMS and applicable regulatory standards.
  • Support audits, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives related to MDS and PDPM.
  • Work daily within U.S.-based EMRs and clinical systems.
  • Maintain strict adherence to deadlines, productivity benchmarks, and quality standards.
  • Demonstrate accountability, reliability, and proactive communication at the work environment.
  • Contribute to process improvement, documentation standards, and future team development.
  • Support additional administrative related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Experience as a Licensed or Registered Nurse (RN) in a U.S. clinical setting.
  • Strong prior experience as an MDS (Minimum Data Set) Coordinator or MDS-focused nurse.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Proven experience with MDS assessments and submissions in a nursing home setting.
  • Experience applying PDPM (Patient-Driven Payment Model) principles in a skilled nursing facility setting.
  • Solid understanding of Nursing Home Quality Measures and outcomes.
  • Experience collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and familiarity with CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) Guidelines & regulatory Compliance.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to work independently and make sound clinical judgments.
  • High level of professionalism, critical thinking, and accountability
  • Experience auditing or reviewing MDS documentation.
  • Leadership mindset with interest in professional growth.
  • Fluent in U.S. medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets), preferred.
  • Reliable computer (Windows 10 or newer), two monitors, and stable high-speed internet.
