About the job Remote Interior Design Drafter
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Remote Interior Design Drafter to support the design team in developing residential design projects from concept through documentation. This role focuses on preparing architectural and interior drawings, drafting residential layouts, creating lighting plans, and producing shop drawings for custom design elements. The position also involves preparing design presentations, organizing project documentation, and supporting the designer with technical drawings and updates throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate has strong drafting and 3D modeling skills, is proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Revit, and demonstrates exceptional attention to detail while maintaining high design and documentation standards in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft residential homes and interior layouts.
- Create lighting plans for design projects.
- Prepare presentations based on the designer's inspiration and design concepts.
- Support the designer with drawings and design documentation.
- Create and revise shop drawings for custom design elements.
- Revise drawings and plans based on designer feedback and project updates.
- Assist with 3D rendering tasks when applicable (experience preferred but not required).
- Perform other tasks related to the position.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent customer service approach.
- Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience working on architectural or interior design projects from concept through installation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit.
- Experience with 3D Rending is a plus.
- Strong 3D modeling and drafting skills.
- Experience creating professional design presentations.
- Familiarity with Canva for visual presentations.
- Experience with 3ds Max and Archicad is preferred.
- Experience preparing architectural drawings, shop drawings, and lighting plans.
- Ability to design and draft custom furniture pieces.
- Strong knowledge of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) procurement, documentation, and coordination.
- Experience with drafting, take-offs, and technical design documentation.
- Experience coordinating with vendors and managing procurement processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain high design and documentation standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Out-of-the-box thinker, reliable, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and confident approach.
- Positive attitude and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Ability to understand and follow established processes with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work in alignment with U.S. Eastern Time (New York time) business hours for at least four hours.
