Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detailed Stone and Tile Take-Off Specialist to join our team remotely. This role requires hands-on expertise in quantity take-offs, material calculation, and a strong understanding of how stone and tile are installed in real-world settings. The ideal candidate will go beyond simple estimating; they will be capable of translating plans into practical take-offs, identifying waste factors, and making procurement recommendations for materials used in floors, kitchens, bathtubs, wet areas and other areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate stone and tile take-offs from architectural drawings for areas including bathrooms, kitchens, floors, and more.
- Conduct piece counts, account for waste factors, and optimize material use.
- Use Bluebeam to interpret and markup construction drawings; other take-off software experience is a plus.
- Support in the selection and purchasing of stone and tile materials, ensuring accuracy and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate remotely with project managers, estimators, and procurement teams to align take-offs with installation needs.
- Apply working knowledge of stone and tile installation, including layout logic, cut optimization, and finishing details.
- Keep well-organized documentation of take-offs, material lists, and notes.
- Perform other duties related to the position.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
- Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written) with the ability to communicate with cross-functional and internal leaders.
- Availability to work Eastern Standard Time (EST), New York time.
- 1+ year of experience in construction estimating or take-offs, specifically in the stone and tile sector.
- Hands-on understanding of tile and stone installation, including layout patterns and finishes.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for digital take-offs is a must; (PlanSwift, AutoCAD, or similar tools are a plus).
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite, especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently with minimal training; candidates must already understand the trade.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when working with plans, layouts, and cuts.
- Experience in or familiarity with flooring, bathroom, or kitchen projects.
- Excellent organizational, especially when it comes to piece counts and calculations pertinent to the job.
- Must be organized and have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Must have a Windows computer (Windows 10 or newer) that is less than 4 years old.
- Two monitors and a high-speed fiber network or Starlink internet.
