Construction Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator with experience as a Vendor Specialist to provide critical support to our construction team by accurately estimating project costs and materials. This role involves reviewing CAD drawings, performing material takeoffs, and reaching out to vendors to obtain pricing and secure quotes. The ideal candidate will have industry experience in construction pricing, vendor management, and point calculation methods. While no specific software expertise is required, a strong understanding of construction estimating processes and high attention to detail are essential to succeed in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review CAD drawings and project specifications to perform accurate material takeoffs.
• Identify materials required for construction projects and prepare quantity sheets.
• Reach out to vendors and suppliers to request pricing, negotiate terms, and confirm availability.
• Consolidate vendor pricing into project estimate sheets for internal review.
• Provide consultation to internal teams on material selections, pricing, and availability.
• Ensure estimates are complete, accurate, and meet client and project requirements.
• Coordinate takeoff and pricing submissions with vendors and track responses.
• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and pricing alternatives when needed.
• Review and interpret architectural and structural drawings to ensure precise estimations.
• Perform architectural takeoffs for windows, doors, and other structural components.
• Assist in cost estimation by providing accurate material counts and measurements.
• Communicate with suppliers and contractors to verify material needs when necessary.
• Perform other tasks related to the position.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
• Proven experience in construction estimating, cost analysis, or material takeoffs.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings (CADs).
• Experience with vendor management and obtaining competitive pricing.
• Previous experience as a Vendor Specialist is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with construction pricing methods and point calculation.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel or similar tools for data management.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong ability to read and analyze architectural drawings.
• Knowledge of construction materials and industry best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Industry experience in construction or related fields is required.
• Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
• Must have a Windows computer (Windows 10 or newer) that is less than 4 years old.
• Two monitors and a high-speed fiber network or Starlink internet.
