Job Summary:
We are seeking an expert-level Window Drafting Engineer with specialized experience in LogiKal or Orgadata, AutoCAD 2D, and comprehensive knowledge of window systems engineering. The ideal candidate will be proficient in creating shop drawings, takeoffs, CNC (Computer Numerical Control) outputs, and engineering calculations, and will be comfortable navigating advanced digital tools used in design, fabrication, and BIM (Building Information Modeling) coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed 2D technical drawings for window and façade systems using AutoCAD and CAD-Suite 2D.
- Perform material takeoffs, generate bills of materials (BOMs), and prepare shop drawings using LogiKal or Orgadata.
- Carry out regular drafting, design, and detailing of window systems to meet project specifications.
- Perform engineering calculations to ensure compliance with structural and thermal performance standards.
- Create and manage machining and bar drawings for fabrication processes.
- Generate CNC outputs, including cutting files and machining data, for automated production.
- Support the fabrication phases, ensuring smooth transition from design to manufacturing.
- Work with 3D CAD interfaces to interpret geometry and support BIM integration.
- Collaborate in BIM workflows, providing accurate data and geometry for coordination with other trades.
- Integrate drafting and material data with ERP systems to support production and planning.
- Revise and update drawings and files based on feedback, design changes, or site conditions.
- Perform other tasks related to the position.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Advanced level of English (written and spoken).
- Extensive experience in window system drafting, design, and engineering.
- Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and CAD-Suite 2D.
- Hands-on experience with LogiKal or Orgadata (highly preferred).
- Façade experience, which includes window and panel shop drawings.
- Experience in Takeoffs, which includes reviewing plans and making summaries in Excel/PDF.
- Strong knowledge of window system components, assembly, and fabrication techniques.
- Proficient in performing engineering calculations related to structural integrity, load capacity, and thermal performance.
- Skilled in CNC processes, including machining outputs, bar drawings, and bar optimization for aluminum profiles and other materials.
- Familiar with BIM platforms and capable of working within 3D CAD modeling environments.
- Experience with ERP system integration to support production planning, material management, and fabrication coordination.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.
- Must have a Windows computer (Windows 10 or newer) that is less than 4 years old.
- Two monitors and a high-speed fiber network or Starlink internet.
