Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Management Bookkeeping Specialist to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment while leveraging industry-standard software such as AppFolio and Yardi. The ideal candidate will have prior bookkeeping experience in property management, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively alongside our in-office bookkeeper to ensure accurate and timely financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute accurate and timely monthly reports to property owners.
  • Handle accounts payable duties, including processing and paying bills for utilities (Con Edison, DEP), vendors, and mortgages.
  • Reconcile bank accounts with financial reports to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including invoices, receipts, and statements.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as necessary.
  • Collaborate with property managers and other team members to ensure proper financial management and adherence to budgets.
  • Stay updated with industry standards and changes in bookkeeping practices.
  • Perform other tasks related to the position.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proficient level of English (written and spoken).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with cross-functional teams, internal leaders, providers, and potential clients.
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within property management.
  • Proficiency in property management software AppFolio, Yardi; experience with other platforms is also valued.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable & receivable, including vendor management and bill payments.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Must be available to work during Eastern Standard Time business hours.
  • Sound judgment and the capacity to comprehend and execute instructions promptly with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable computer (Windows 10 or newer), two monitors, and stable high-speed internet.
