Position Overview:
Chula Vista Resort is seeking 24 temporary full-time lifeguards for the period 01/01/2025 through 10/31/2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure guest safety on water and dry attractions.
- Maintain high safety standards and rescue readiness.
- Deliver exceptional guest service, especially to children.
- Assist with general tasks, including grounds maintenance, line control, trash removal, and guest participation on attractions.
- Spend extended periods in and out of chlorinated water under various weather conditions.
- Successfully complete the American Red Cross lifeguard certification, provided by Chula Vista.
Requirements:
- Experience: No prior experience required.
- Certification: Completion of the American Red Cross Lifeguard Course, including skills assessments and exams.
- Screening: Pre-employment criminal background checks for all employees, including H-2B visa workers.
- Drug-Free Workplace: Reasonable suspicion drug testing policy enforced. No pre-employment drug testing required.
Compensation & Work Conditions:
- Hours: Minimum 35 hours/week. Shifts vary (e.g., 9 AM5 PM, 12 PM8 PM).
- Wages: $12.71$20/hour, based on experience. Overtime ranges $19.07$30/hour. Paid bi-weekly.
- Housing: Not provided, but information about nearby housing at 2600 River Road is available.
- Deductions: Only those required by law.
- Benefits: Discounts on food, waterpark access, and room accommodations (subject to availability).
Transportation and Reimbursements:
- Travel: Transportation and meals reimbursed at $15.88 per day (up to $59/day with receipts) if the worker completes 50% of the contract or upon contract completion.
- Visa Expenses: All government-mandated visa and border processing fees reimbursed during the first workweek (passport fees excluded).
Tools and Transportation:
- Tools: Provided free of charge.
- Daily Transportation: Workers must arrange their own transport to the worksite. Shuttle service available for those in employee housing to local stores.
