Development Engineer (Hardware) - Johannesburg 

R55 000 to R60 000 CTC

The Dev Engineer with a focus on designing and industrialising electronic systems used in demanding, real-world applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop analog & digital electronic circuits and embedded systems
• Build, test, and validate prototypes for performance and reliability
• Support product industrialisation, DFM/DFT, and production readiness
• Ensure EMC/EMI compliance and adherence to safety and regulatory standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally with software, mechanical, and production teams
• Provide technical support, documentation, and mentorship to junior engineers

Key Requirements

• BEng / BSc Engineering (Electronics) or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electronic product development
• Strong experience in embedded systems, C/C++, and PCB design (Altium advantageous)
• Solid understanding of hardware/software integration
• Experience with microcontrollers, DSP, communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, Ethernet)
• Hands-on lab experience and exposure to EMC, testing, and certification processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
