The Role: Key Account Manager (Wine Industry)
This role focuses on expanding and maintaining national retail relationships within the Western Cape, with a strategic emphasis on securing listings across major groups such as Shoprite and Checkers. You'll play a pivotal role in driving commercial performance, executing trade strategies, and ensuring the company's brands achieve visibility and profitability within key channels.
Key Responsibilities

Secure Shoprite and Checkers listings within the first three months of employment

Manage and grow existing retail accounts across the Western Cape region

Negotiate pricing, promotions, and long-term supply agreements

Develop and implement account strategies aligned with brand and sales objectives

Monitor category performance and competitor activity to inform business decisions

Represent the company at trade events, tastings, and key account meetings

Report on sales metrics, forecasts, and progress toward listing and growth targets
About You

Minimum 5 years experience in Key Account Management within the wine, spirits, or premium FMCG sectors

Proven record of securing national retail listings specifically with Shoprite or Checkers

Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills

Confident, well-presented communicator able to engage at all levels

Preferably Afrikaans-speaking, with the ability to liaise effectively with retail management

Self-driven, organised, and results-oriented

Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel regionally
