The Role: Key Account Manager (Wine Industry)
This role focuses on expanding and maintaining national retail relationships within the Western Cape, with a strategic emphasis on securing listings across major groups such as Shoprite and Checkers. You'll play a pivotal role in driving commercial performance, executing trade strategies, and ensuring the company's brands achieve visibility and profitability within key channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Secure Shoprite and Checkers listings within the first three months of employment

  • Manage and grow existing retail accounts across the Western Cape region

  • Negotiate pricing, promotions, and long-term supply agreements

  • Develop and implement account strategies aligned with brand and sales objectives

  • Monitor category performance and competitor activity to inform business decisions

  • Represent the company at trade events, tastings, and key account meetings

  • Report on sales metrics, forecasts, and progress toward listing and growth targets

About You

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Key Account Management within the wine, spirits, or premium FMCG sectors

  • Proven record of securing national retail listings specifically with Shoprite or Checkers

  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills

  • Confident, well-presented communicator able to engage at all levels

  • Preferably Afrikaans-speaking, with the ability to liaise effectively with retail management

  • Self-driven, organised, and results-oriented

  • Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel regionally
