Role Summary:
The Radiological Technologist is responsible for conducting high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures including mammography, CT scans, X-rays, and ultrasound. The ideal candidate combines technical precision with warm patient interaction and a strong commitment to radiation safety and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform mammography using Fujifilm AMULET Innovality (EQ), including DBT and CEDM

  • Conduct CT scans using systems like Fujifilm FCT iStream, CSL, and ECG Ivy7800

  • Operate general diagnostic imaging equipment for X-ray and ultrasound procedures

  • Prepare patients, explain procedures, and administer contrast media as needed

  • Ensure radiation safety and compliance with South Africas Hazardous Substances Act

  • Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment per daily QA protocols

  • Accurately record patient information and imaging data in PACS/RIS systems

  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and guest services to ensure seamless workflows

  • Participate in internal quality assurance programs to maintain high imaging standards

  • Stay current with CPD activities to maintain registration and skill advancement

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Radiography (Diagnostic) or National Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography from an HPCSA-accredited institution

  • Additional training in mammography or CT imaging advantageous

  • Full registration with the HPCSA as a Diagnostic Radiographer

  • Valid HPCSA annual practising certificate

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of post-qualification experience in diagnostic radiography

  • Hands-on experience with mammography (DBT and CEDM) and CT scan procedures

  • Familiarity with Fujifilm imaging systems or equivalent high-end diagnostic platforms

  • Experience in private healthcare or high-volume diagnostic settings preferred

Skills:

  • Expertise in operating mammography, CT, and general imaging equipment

  • Proficiency with PACS and Radiology Information Systems

  • Strong verbal communication and patient engagement skills

  • Attention to detail in image acquisition, patient positioning, and data entry

  • Collaborative mindset for working across clinical and technical teams

  • Participate in ongoing CPD as required by HPCSA

  • Support departmental quality control and audit processes

Salary Range (Entry-Level, 02 Years Post-Qualification):

  • R25,000 - R35,000/month (R300,000 - R420,000/year)
