We are a fast-growing engineering water treatment company seeking a dynamic Engineer-in-Training (Electronics) to support and innovate within our online water monitoring and treatment systems.

As our Engineer-in-Training, you'll work on cutting-edge water monitoring technology, sensor integration and signal testing to backend data systems and client dashboards. You'll be immersed in R&D, collaborate across teams, and directly impact how South Africa monitors and manages water resources.
What You'll Be Doing
1. Maintain & Improve Online Monitoring Systems

Ensure sensor data is accurately collected and stored from on-site devices into our backend database

Verify that live dashboards display up-to-date operational data, including water levels, quality, and usage metrics
2. Test & Calibrate Telemetry Panels

Perform testbench calibration, signal validation, and electrical checks

Set up and integrate panels with backend systems and ensure flawless data flow to client dashboards
3. Monitor Plant Operations & Reporting

Keep an eye on client plants for performance issues or irregularities

Prepare monthly reports based on water usage, quality, and borehole levels in line with WULA compliance
4. R&D and Innovation

Research communication protocols (LoRaWAN, MQTT, cellular, satellite) to improve system efficiency and reliability

Explore new sensors and technologies to enhance our online monitoring capabilities
What Youll Need to Succeed

Bachelors degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, or related field

Experience with databases, web APIs, and virtual machines

Familiarity with PLC programming, electrical schematics, and sensor communication

Curiosity, initiative, and a collaborative mindset

Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
