The Role: Senior Toolmaker
As a Senior Toolmaker, you will play a key role in the manufacturing and maintenance of precision moulds and components. You'll operate Toolroom machinery, ensure tooling accuracy, and take ownership of fault-finding and repair work. This role demands a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to guide best practices within the Toolroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate all Toolroom machinery efficiently, cost-effectively, and safely.

  • Manufacture, assemble, and repair precision moulds and related components from technical drawings.

  • Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting on tooling and moulds.

  • Provide input on mould design and improvement for optimal production performance.

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe Toolroom environment at all times.

  • Assess tooling condition post-production and trigger work orders where required.

  • Liaise with management on task progress, technical issues, and production priorities.

  • Uphold company values by setting an example in work ethic, safety, and professionalism.

About You

  • Qualified Trade Tested Tool Jig and Die Maker (MERSETA).

  • Minimum N2 qualification.

  • 10 to 15 years of experience as a Toolmaker within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Toolroom machinery and tooling practices.

  • Proven experience in mould manufacturing, repair, and precision machining.

  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding ability.

  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize workload effectively.

  • Commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
