The Role: Assistant Store Manager Menlyn Park
As Assistant Store Manager, you will support the Store Manager in leading a busy, high-performing retail team. This role requires strong operational oversight, a hands-on leadership style, and a passion for motivating teams to hit sales targets while delivering top-tier customer service. You will also be expected to step up and run the store in the Store Manager's absence.

Working hours: Retail hours including weekends, public holidays, and shifts (5 working days per week with 1 guaranteed weekend off per month).

Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a retail management or supervisory role

  • Support the Store Manager in leading and motivating the team to meet and exceed sales targets

  • Drive excellence in daily operations, including staff scheduling and task delegation

  • Monitor store KPIs and support the team in achieving individual and store goals

  • Handle staff coaching, performance management, and disciplinary discussions when necessary

  • Ensure outstanding customer service and handle escalations with professionalism

  • Oversee visual merchandising and ensure adherence to brand standards

  • Manage shrinkage, stockroom organisation, and stock control processes

  • Conduct opening/closing procedures and ensure compliance with all policies

About You

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar retail leadership role (Assistant Store Manager, Floor Manager, Supervisor)

  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a busy retail environment

  • Confident managing team performance, conflict, and discipline

  • Strong KPI and target management skills

  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach

  • Organised, reliable, and attentive to detail

  • Comfortable working weekends, shifts, and public holidays

  • Proactive, hands-on leader who thrives under pressure

  • Matric required; tertiary qualification in retail or business (advantageous)

Salary and Remuneration

  • R13,000R15,000 basic salary per month (excluding incentives)

  • Competitive commission and incentive structure

  • Annual performance bonus
