The Role: Senior Process Engineer (BSc/BEng. Chemical)

The Senior Process Engineer exists to lead project design phases and ensure technical solutions are innovative, cost-effective, and delivered within safety and budgetary guidelines. This role contributes to the business by overseeing the full project lifecycle from initial concept and feasibility studies to factory testing and final hand-over. The main focus areas include process design, project management, facility commissioning, and the mentoring of junior engineering staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, including 3 years in project engineering and 2 years in water treatment.
  • Lead project design phases from initial concept to detailed engineering, including reactor designs and process narratives.
  • Execute engineering activities according to project schedules, budgets, and OHS Act requirements.
  • Lead commissioning efforts and perform simulations to verify water recovery rates and chemical consumption.
  • Specify and procure instruments, controls, and major process equipment while troubleshooting to meet production specifications.
  • Generate and approve process documentation, including P&IDs, Data Sheets, Control Philosophies, and Operating Manuals.
  • Conduct failure investigations and build data analysis tools to evaluate customer specifications and production data.
  • Mentor subordinates and facilitate knowledge transfer across the engineering team.

About You

  • BSc or B Eng. in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project engineering and management roles.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience specifically within the water treatment field.
  • Deep technical knowledge of chemical plant design, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Entrepreneurial, innovative, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Strong focus on technical resolution and multi-disciplinary teamwork.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for vendor and stakeholder management.
  • Highly organized and self-sufficient with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
