Internal Sales Representative Diesel Fuel Injection (Parow)

An automotive wholesaler based in Parow is seeking an experienced Internal Sales Representative specialising in Diesel Fuel Injection. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving sales, supporting customers, and contributing to product development within a high-performance sales environment.

INTERNAL SALES - DIESEL FUEL IN

Key Responsibilities

Sales

  • Proactively contact customers via phone and email to promote product lines, advise on specials, and arrange sales-rep visits where needed.

  • Achieve monthly sales targets and grow business within key customer groups (Diesel Pump Rooms).

  • Support product range expansion alongside the Product Development Specialist.

  • Assist in sourcing new suppliers and identifying new diesel parts opportunities.

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, including occasional customer visits.

  • Support other sales staff with diesel parts enquiries.

  • Prepare accurate invoices using correct sales codes and customer information.

  • Open COD accounts for counter cash customers to grow the customer database.

  • Manage backorders and ensure timely customer order placement.

Customer Service

  • Provide fast, clear updates on delivery, logistics, and supply issues.

  • Escalate account risks (e.g., credit limit concerns) to management.

  • Assist customers promptly and follow up on quotes, calls, and messages.

  • Ensure correct parts are supplied and avoid referring customers to competitors.

  • Handle claims and returns according to internal procedures.

Administration

  • Maintain and update customer data, claims, and credit records.

  • Complete lost-sales reports for unavailable or uncompetitive items.

  • Participate in stock takes, trade evenings, and company events when required.

  • Keep a neat, professional workstation and maintain appropriate appearance standards.

  • Carry out additional tasks as requested by management.

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric (Grade 12).

  • Extensive diesel fuel injection industry knowledge.

  • Diesel Fuel Injection trade test / training certification (highly advantageous).

  • Proven internal or similar sales experience.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Excellent organisational and multitasking ability.

  • Product and industry knowledge advantageous.

  • Customer-service focused with a proactive mindset.
