Salary Range: $83,000 - $123,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) in accordance with industry standards.
• Provide technical support and problem-solving for welding-related issues on the production line.
• Select appropriate welding processes, equipment, and consumables for various manufacturing applications.
• Conduct root cause analysis for welding defects and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and optimize joint designs.
• Train and mentor welding technicians and operators on best practices and new technologies.
• Implement and maintain welding quality control measures and inspection plans.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, or a related engineering field.
• 5+ years of experience in welding engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in various welding processes (e.g., GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) and their application.
• Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards (e.g., AWS, ASME), and quality control procedures.
• Proficiency in developing and optimizing welding procedures (WPS/PQR) and specifications.
• Experience with root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for welding defects.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotic welding systems and programming.
• Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) methods and interpretation.
• Project management experience, particularly in leading welding-related projects.
• AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Certified Welding Engineer (CWE) certification.
