Salary Range: $75,000 - $114,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and implement welding procedures (WPS) and specifications.
• Provide technical expertise and support for welding processes and equipment in manufacturing.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for welding defects and non-conformances.
• Evaluate and select appropriate welding consumables, materials, and equipment.
• Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to optimize weldability and product quality.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives for welding operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Develop and deliver training programs for welders and manufacturing personnel on welding techniques and quality standards.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in welding processes (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW) within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy, material science, and their application to welding.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Experience with NDT methods and quality control procedures for welded components.
• AWS Certified Welding Engineer (CWEng) certification preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with robotic welding systems and programming.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software for fixture design and analysis.
• Familiarity with NDT methods (UT, RT, MT, PT) and their application in weld inspection.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
• Published research or presented at industry conferences on welding-related topics.
