Salary Range: $71,000 - $110,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test tooling for manufacturing processes.
• Analyze and resolve tooling-related issues, improving efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure tooling meets specifications.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for tooling design and fabrication.
• Manage tooling lifecycle, including procurement, maintenance, and retirement.
• Conduct cost analysis and feasibility studies for new tooling projects.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA) for tooling design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, stamping, machining) and their associated tooling requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with 3D scanning and reverse engineering for tooling.
• Proficiency in programming CNC machines or robotic systems for automated tooling processes.
• Knowledge of advanced materials for tooling, such as composites or specialized alloys.
• Familiarity with simulation software for mold flow analysis or stress analysis in tooling.
• Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for rapid prototyping of tooling components.
