HR Manager | Kalamazoo, MI

Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across the Kalamazoo area seeking HR Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Usual Responsibilities

• Advise managers on policy and disciplinary matters.
• Oversee recruiting and hiring for production and office roles.
• Administer payroll, benefits, and leave programs.
• Handle employee relations and resolve workplace concerns.
• Maintain compliance with federal and state labor laws.
• Support safety programs and track incident reporting.
• Manage onboarding, training, and performance reviews.
• Maintain personnel records and HR information systems.

Recommended Qualifications

• Five or more years of HR experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of FMLA, FLSA, OSHA, and EEOC requirements.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field.

Bonus Qualifications

• Bilingual English and Spanish.
• Background in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.
• Experience building training and apprenticeship programs.
• Familiarity with multi-site HR operations.
• Experience with union environments and collective bargaining.
