HR Generalist | East Lansing, MI
Salary Range: $57,000 - $84,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, hiring, and onboarding for manufacturing and production roles.
- Administer employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), and company policies.
- Oversee Workers' Compensation claims and promote a strong safety culture within the manufacturing facility.
- Support performance management processes, including reviews, goal setting, and development plans for plant personnel.
- Assist with benefits administration and payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees.
- Develop and deliver HR training programs, focusing on safety, compliance, and leadership development for supervisors.
Recommended Qualifications
- 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, specifically within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA regulations relevant to manufacturing operations.
- Proven ability to manage complex employee relations, conduct investigations, and facilitate conflict resolution.
- Experience with full-cycle recruitment for a variety of manufacturing positions, including production, skilled trades, and operational roles.
- Understanding of workers' compensation processes and experience supporting workplace safety programs and initiatives.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience working in a unionized environment or with collective bargaining agreements.
- Proficiency in Spanish or other languages common in manufacturing workforces.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
- Direct experience with manufacturing safety programs and OSHA compliance.
