Salary Range: $67,000 - $100,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Byron Center seeking Cost Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs, prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and variances.
• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Manage and reconcile inventory, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods accounts.
• Identify and analyze cost variances, recommending corrective actions to improve profitability.
• Participate in the month-end close process, focusing on Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) and inventory valuation.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts related to production costs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing cost data and analysis for process optimization.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of cost accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• In-depth knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and inventory valuation methods.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and drive process improvements.
• CMA or CPA certification preferred.

Bonus Qualifications

• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Advanced ERP module configuration or super-user experience (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle Cost Management).
• Proficiency in SQL or VBA for data extraction and analysis.
