Salary Range: $47,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate and timely multi-state payroll for a high volume of hourly and salaried manufacturing employees.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax laws, including manufacturing-specific regulations.
  • Manage and maintain timekeeping systems, including review of employee hours, overtime, and shift differentials.
  • Calculate and process all payroll deductions, including benefits, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions.
  • Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and prepare payroll-related journal entries.
  • Prepare and submit required payroll reports for internal management and external agencies.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience processing multi-state payroll, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Proficiency with enterprise payroll systems (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday) and integrated time & attendance software.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including manufacturing-specific overtime and shift differential calculations.
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately process complex payrolls for a large employee base, including benefits, garnishments, and deductions.
  • Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail for data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience processing payroll for a manufacturing workforce, including shift differentials, production bonuses, or piece rates.
  • Proficiency with integrated time & attendance systems (e.g., Kronos, ADP eTime) used in a plant environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) specifically their payroll modules.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll for a distributed manufacturing workforce.
