Salary Range: $47,000 - $72,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Process accurate bi-weekly or weekly payroll for a high volume of manufacturing employees, including shift differentials and overtime.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and company policies.
  • Manage and reconcile timekeeping data from shop floor systems and time clocks.
  • Administer and process all payroll deductions, including benefits, 401k, and garnishments.
  • Prepare and submit all required payroll tax filings and year-end reporting (W-2s).
  • Reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, and time off accruals.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct payroll processing experience, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Proficiency with major payroll software (e.g., ADP, UKG, Workday) and HRIS systems; strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and FLSA compliance, including handling hourly wages, overtime, and shift differentials.
  • Demonstrated accuracy, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to manage confidential information with the highest discretion.
  • Experience with timekeeping systems and their integration with payroll, including managing complex attendance and leave policies.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with complex time & attendance systems (e.g., Kronos, UKG) common in manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with payroll processing in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday) for HR/Payroll modules.
  • Understanding of how payroll impacts manufacturing cost accounting.
