Salary Range: $44,000 - $67,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and sub-assemblies against engineering drawings and specifications.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators to verify critical dimensions.
• Document inspection results accurately, including acceptance, rejection, and detailed non-conformances, in designated quality records.
• Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected materials and ensure proper segregation and identification of non-conforming products.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to understand inspection criteria and product requirements.
• Maintain and perform basic calibration checks on inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and production teams to resolve material discrepancies and quality issues.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficient in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering blueprints, specifications, and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and inspection methodologies.
• Experience with documenting inspection results and identifying non-conforming materials.
• Basic computer proficiency for data entry and report generation.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for material tracking.
• Experience with specialized metrology software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, Minitab).
• Certification or training in Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Basic understanding of gauge calibration principles and schedules.
• Ability to interpret and apply advanced Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts.
