Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize packaging solutions for new and existing products, ensuring product integrity and manufacturability.
• Conduct material selection, testing, and validation of packaging components to meet performance, cost, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain teams to integrate packaging requirements into product development cycles.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives related to packaging materials, processes, and equipment.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive packaging specifications, standards, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve packaging-related issues on production lines, improving efficiency and reducing waste.
• Research and implement sustainable packaging materials and practices to minimize environmental impact.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• 3-5 years of experience in packaging development or engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of various packaging materials (e.g., plastics, paperboard, corrugated, glass) and their properties, applications, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, ArtiosCAD) and knowledge of packaging testing standards (e.g., ISTA).
• Proven ability to lead packaging projects from concept to commercialization, including cost optimization and vendor collaboration.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with sustainable packaging materials and design principles.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent process improvement experience.
• Proficiency in packaging simulation software (e.g., CAPE, TOPS) or advanced 3D CAD modeling.
• Hands-on experience with package testing methodologies (e.g., ISTA, ASTM standards).
